Gladstone (1873)

A whole plate negative. A slightly distant port broadside view of the 3 masted ship rigged vessel Gladstone (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is laden down to her marks and is flying her owner's houseflag. She is rigged with double topsails, double main topgallants, single fore and mizzen topgallants and single royals. On the right is the paddle tug Rescue (1869) and on the left is the screw tug Red Rose (1885). Tilbury is in the background, including the premises of the Tilbury Steam Laundry Company. Negatives numbers G2239 and G2244 were taken on the same occasion.
