A whole plate negative. A distant starboard near broadside view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the 3 masted ship rigged general cargo sailing vessel Patriarch (1869) under tow in Gravesend Reach, River Thames bound down. The stern of the tug is just in the picture. She has been refitted and her fore and main topgallant yards have been doubled. She has pole topmasts and telescopic topgallant masts. Tilbury is in the background.
