Amy Cecilia (1877); Elizabeth (1865); Thames, River
A half plate negative. A slightly distant starboard bow view of the swim headed stumpy spritsail barge Elizabeth (1865) dried out on the shore at Bycliffs, Gravesend. Berthed outboard of her is the stumpy spritsail barge Amy Cecilia (1877). Both of these barges are owned by William Fletcher of Bycliffs, Gravesend. The foreshore is covered in ice and Gravesend Reach, River Thames is almost frozen over. The photographer is looking upstream and Tilbury Ness light is in the background. A vertical format image.
