Thames Barge Match, 1898
A 12x10 negative. General cargo spritsail rigged barges rounding the Mouse Light Vessel in the Thames estuary during the 1898 Thames Barge Match. The light vessel is seen from off her starboard beam and the barges off the starboard quarter and beam. The barges are said to be the Lord Nelson (1898) following Arrow (1897) with an unknown barge ahead and the Pastime (1890) on the extreme right.
