Enriqueta (Fl.1878)
A whole plate negative. A starboard near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the 3 masted schooner rigged steam yacht Enriqueta (fl.1878) at moorings on the River Thames near Gravesend, Kent. This yacht has a clipper bow with scrollwork and figurehead and a short counter stern embellished with ornate scrollwork. She has a single bell topped buff funnel abaft the mainmast. The vessel's name is on a board on the hull just above the bow scrollwork. All of her crew are uniformly dressed and this may be a pilot or customs vessel. No vessel of this name can be traced in Lloyd's Register, Lloyd's Register of Yachts or the Mercantile Navy List. Scratched in the emulsion of the negative is "Enriqueta late Banshee 1/7/78".
