A whole plate negative. A general view of Gravesend Reach, River Thames, taken from the river looking south-west towards Gravesend. Denton is on the left, Gordon Park and New Haven Fort in the centre and Gravesend Town on the right. Beyond the stern of the anchored three masted wooden barque is the steeple of St George's Church.
