The projection is geocentric and equidistant from the North Pole to South 50 degrees. Only the principle stars, connected by lines, are included. On the back, there is a magnitude table which is labelled 'Magnitudes [1-5]'. The Milky Way is labelled 'MILKY WAY'. 21 stars and two star groups are named. Ptolemaic constellations above declination South 50 degrees and two non-Ptolemainc constellations are drawn. Six of Hevelius are drawn as well as two of Lacaille. The text on the back includes 'a selection of Philips' popular astronomical aids'.
