House flag, General Shipping Company
The house flag of Aitkin Lilburn and Co, Glasgow (General Shipping Company). The flag is made of wool bunting, machine sewn with a linen hoist. A rope and wooden toggle is attached. Inscibed on the hoist: '8 x 6'.
A rectangular flag, divided diagonally into four. The end sections are white, the top section red and the lower section blue. Blue letters 'G' and 'S' on the white areas, 'COY' in white on the blue area.
