Oceana (1888) at Tilbury
A 12x10 photographic print. A port very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the passenger.cargo liner Oceana (1888) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on each of her fore and main masts and is flying the blue peter. Her superstructure is painted white. The passenger ferry Cato (1849) is alongside forward and an unidentified steam passenger launch is alongside aft. Tilbury Hotel is in the extreme left background. Very slightly unsharp. The original 12x10 glass plate negative has been broken and discarded but this print, made in the 1950s, is available.
