China (1896)

A 12x10 negative. A distant starboard broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner China (1896) manoeuvring with tugs in Gravesend Reach, River Thames, at the entrance to Tilbury Docks, bound in. An unidentified Watkins tug has her bow line and the Watkins tug Persia (1902) is connected to her starboard quarter pulling the stern round. A hay laden spritsail barge is sailing upriver with the Tilbury Hotel in the background.
