A distant view of two Coastal Motor Boats [CMB] under way passing Parkeston Quay and the line of destroyers moored in the background. The torpedo boat destroyer HMS Mentor (1914) can be seen moored in the river with the pendant number 6A on her port bow below the forecastle. The first CMB is off her bow.

The Aurora was prepared for trial of motor boats on 8 August. No further mention of the boats is made for August. [Ship's Log, TNA, ADM 53/34495]
