Paymaster William Roe, RN, standing with an unidentified lieutenant stricking a pose with a melon(?) balanced on his head

Paymaster William Roe, RN, in his macintosh, pipe in mouth, looking at the camera. Standing next him is an unidentified lieutenant striking a pose with a melon(?) balanced on his head and held in place with a finger on the top. Both men are standing in a wheat field where the wheat has been reaped and stacked in bundles. The picnic basket is on the ground behind the lieutenant.

It is unclear whether the lieutenant in the photograph is either Geoffrey Earwaker or Geoffroy Hooper. Comparison with photographs of Lt. Syfret eliminates him.
