Victoria (1887)
A whole plate negative. A poor quality starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Victoria (1887) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has yards on her fore and main masts. The paddle tug Renown (1863), seen from well ahead of her starboard beam, is alongside the liner. Tilbury Hotel is in the background. The original negative has peeled off and been discarded. A 12x10 photographic print made from this negative in the 1950s is available for scanning. Negative number G1714 is a very similar view taken on the same occasion.
