Sobraon (1866)
A quarter plate negative. A port near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the 3 masted ship rigged passenger liner Sobraon (1866) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has fidded royal masts. All yards above the fore upper
topsail, main topgallant and mizzen upper topsail have been sent down. There are passengers on deck. A bawley is in the foreground. This negative was taken on a different occasion to G1299 and G2306 as the ship's name is painted just above the trail board of the figurehead and not on the hull near the third painted port. A Gould copy of a Gould photographic print made from whole plate negative number G1305.
