The photographer is looking aft and slightly to port from the forward bulkhead. The mess cleaning gear cupboard is in the foreground with pairs of kit lockers numbered 7 to 12 next to it. A table, chairs and clock are on the aft bulkhead, on the other side of which is the gun bay. The clock is reading 4.30.
