A starboard side view of the White Star Line cruise ship Calgaric (1918) moored and anchored in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden.
A starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the White Star Line cruise ship Calgaric (1918) moored and at anchor in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden. Both anchors are deployed and she has mooring lines to buoys astern. She has bunting at her foremast and mainmast and a steam tug or tender is alongside her accommodation ladder aft. The photographer is in a boat looking at shipping alongside the wharves and district of Sodermalm which is in the background.
The Calgaric undertook eight cruises in Scandinavian waters between 1928 and 1933 and she was used for a cruise to the Baltic and North Sea by the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides under Lord Baden Powell, the so-called Peace Cruise of the Boy Scout movement, 12-29 August, 1933.
