A 35mm roll film negative. On board the Rothesay class type 12 frigate Rhyl (1959) in Devonport Dockyard. In the junior rates mess on 3 deck between 23 and 27 stations. The photographer is looking aft and to port from to port of the centreline of the mess showing kit lockers and two 3 tier bunk units rigged for sitting. One of the kit lockers has a mirror fixed to the side. Two fire extinguishers, one water and one foam, are on the left. A tannoy is on the aft bulkhead. The photograph was taken prior to 9 May 1972.
