Hermes (1953). A canteen or servery for a dining hall during conversion.
A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is below decks in what may be a canteen or a servery for a dining hall. A fresh water cooler is on the left and a plate and cutlery cupboard with a glass top is in the centre. A closed roller shutter is in the background and on the right is a stainless steel counter unit.
