A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the C.P.Os recreation space on the port side of 2 deck between stations 50 and 65 during conversion. The photographer is looking forward on the port side lounge area showing settee benches on the left, end and right bulkheads and the deck is carpetted. A telephone and automatic emergency lantern are by the door and a serving hatch is on the right. The photographer has allocated the number 6 to this location.
