Hermes (1953). The C.P.Os recreation space on 2 deck during conversion
A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the C.P.Os recreation space on the port side of 2 deck between 50 and 65 stations. The photographer is looking aft on the port side of the lounge area showing settee benches on the left, end and right bulkheads and the deck is carpetted. A ventilation trunk is in the corner with two cupboards above it and one by the side. A glass fronted double door cupboard is on the aft bulkhead. The photographer has allocated the number 6 to this location.
