Hermes (1953). The C.P.Os recreation space on 2 deck during conversion.

A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the C.P.Os recreation space on the port side of 2 deck between 50 and 65 stations. He is in the starboard lounge area looking forward showing settee benches lining the bulkheads and the deck is carpetted. The bar area is on the left and the grilled shutters are closed. A telephone is on the aft bulkhead to the right of the bar. The photographer has allocated the number 6 to this location.
