A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the main communications office (upper) on 02 deck looking to port and forward into the forward corner showing a desk with a duplicating machine on it. Cupboards and drawers are to the side and under the desk and a nest of pigeon holes is above it. Above the corner desk are more pigeon holes and a notice is standing on it. Above the adjoining desk is a book and manual shelf and on the desk is an Olivetti 82 typewriter.
