Hermes (1953). The P.Os. recreation space on 2 deck during conversion

A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the P.Os. recreation space on 2 deck between stations 12½ and 27. He is looking forward in the smaller lounge area and settee benches are against all of the bulkheads. Large speakers are in the corners above the settee bench and another speaker, some cushions and some panelling are on the bench. A pillar is in the centre of the compartment.
