A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the assault operations room on the starboard side of 1 deck between 91 and 107 stations looking along the passageway between the operations room and the military briefing cell. A foam fire extinguisher and an automatic emergency lantern are on the steel screen on the left. The area inside the steel screen is the communications desks. A telephone communication panel and an electric fire are in the right foreground. In the military briefing cell is a large communications desk with a microphone on it. A vertical format negative.
