A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the port side of the hangar at 74 station on 3 deck looking to starboard. On the starboard bulkhead are a bomb lift, watertight door, fire extinguisher, two chemical foam drums, a hose reel, stowage for a twin cylinder CO2 trolley unit and part of the avcat fuel pumping unit. Stored high up on the hangar wall are large crates, a drop tank and spare rotor blades. Dustbins, steps, trolleys and towing bars are on the deck.
