A 35mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in June 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is on the port side of the hangar at 69 station on 3 deck looking to starboard. On the starboard bulkhead are an avcat fuel pumping unit, an A/C hydraulic servicing trolley and hose and two telephones. Stored high up on the hangar wall are spare rotor blades. Dustbins, battery chargers and jacks are on the deck. Behind the roller shutter on the left is the commando group vehicle servicing area.
