A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the port flight (1) deck walkway looking forward from 198 station. Three cable reels, a power outlet point, a pile of hoses and three lockers are in the walkway. A dory and the LCVP gantries are on the left and the island superstructure is on the right. Pendant number R12. The aircraft carrier Ark Royal (1950) is alongside 5 wharf in the background. A vertical format negative.
