A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the port flight (1) deck walkway looking forward from 206 station. A ladderway leading down to 2 deck, a firepoint and chemical foam locker and a spare ensign staff are in the walkway. The MRS3 director is on the left and the island superstructure is on the right. Pendant number R12. The aircraft carrier Ark Royal (1950) is alongside 5 wharf in the background. A vertical format negative.
