A 35 mm roll film negative. On board the commando carrier Hermes (1953) alongside 6 and 7 wharves in the north yard of Devonport Dockyard in early July 1973 towards the end of her conversion from a fixed wing aircraft carrier to a commando carrier. She recommissioned after conversion on 18 August 1973. The photographer is in the starboard flight (1) deck walkway looking forward from 206 station. A fire point is in the foreground walkway with a starway down to 2 deck and a ladder up to the flight deck beyond it. The MRSs director with the canvas hood down is on the right. The aircraft carrier Ark Royal (1950) is alongside number 5 wharf in the background. A vertical format negative.
