On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960) alongside the fitting out berth of Alexander Stephen & Sons Ltd at Linthouse, Glasgow. The photographer is in the operations room between 31 and 35½ stations on 1 deck looking forward and to starboard from near the captain's bathroom door. A relay cabinet with an emergency lamp above it is on the right and a visual display unit is beyond the pillar. A surface reporter display unit is on the left with a starter panel between it and the door to the wheelhouse lobby. To the side of the door is a fire extinguisher and a fuse panel.
