The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960), In the senior rates' sleeping annexe between 62½ and 68 stations on the starboard side of 3 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the senior rates' sleeping annexe between 62½ and 68 stations on the starboard side of 3 deck looking aft and to port from 67 station showing the door into the annexe with an automatic emergency lantern and a fire extinguisher by the side of it. Kit lockers, suitcase lockers and a greatcoat locker are against the aft bulkhead. A transformer and a distribution panel are to the right of the door. A table top on kit lockers is in the foreground.
