On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in No. 4 naval store between 65 and 68 stations on the starboard side of 4 deck looking to aft and to port from 65½ station showing the end of a drawer and shelf unit on the extreme left, a cupboard and desk top on the right and a shelf rack against the aft bulkhead. Part of the latter is protected by hinged wire mesh screens. A vertical format negative.
