The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). On the starboard side of 01 deck at 37 station.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the starboard side of 01 deck looking aft from 34 station showing the air treatment unit with the supply fan casings marked 01J11. A single 20 mm oerlikon gun is outboard of this unit. The bow of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary store carrier Bacchus (1962), pendant A404, is in the background with the stores lighter PAS 1002 alongside. A vertical format negative.
