The Type 12 frigate HMS Lowestoft (1960). The support for the MRS3 director at 35 station on 01 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is on the port side of 01 deck at 39 station looking forward and to starboard showing the ventilation fan unit in the foreground with the gyro unit storage locker and an empty cable reel behind it on the right. The support tower for the MRS3 director has a telephone and a tannoy fixed to it and a 2 inch rocket flare locker next to it. An air look out position is on the left with the gun direction officer's position on the raised platform.
