On board the Type 12 frigate Lowestoft (1960) in No. 3 basin at Chatham Dockyard near the end of her modernisation which commenced 15 March 1968 and finished 31 May 1970. She was in the basin throughout May 1970. The photographer is in the pay and correspondence office between 32 and 35½ stations on the port side of 3 deck looking to starboard and slightly forward showing two large and one small combination safes and a two drawer filing cabinet. The door to the office is on the left with a serving hatch next to it. A desk with a two drawer cabinet under is on the right.
