The photographer is in the No. 1 A/S mortar handing room between 67¼ and 71 stations on the port side of 2 deck looking forward and to starboard from 69½ station showing an oil tank and tube gauge against the ship's side on the left. The A.S. Mortar Mk. 10 loading equipment Mk 1 S.E.W.11/1959 manufactured by Sheldon's Engineering Works Ltd is on the right. Against the forward bulkhead are two voicepipes, the starter for the A/S mortar hoist motor No. 1 and the starter for the A/S mortar oil pump motor No. 1.
