The Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959). On the flag deck between 34 and 40 stations on the port side of 01 deck.
On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the flag deck between 34 and 40 stations on the port side of 01 deck looking aft and to port from 34 station showing the canvas covered twenty inch signal projector in its enclosure and aft of it is the inflatable liferaft stowage. In the right foreground is the washdeck locker. Behind the pyrotechnics locker labelled 'Dangerous explosives' is the air conditioning exhaust unit and against the ship's rail is the flag locker. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay and astern of her is the tanker Solen (1961) fitting out. On the opposite side of the river alongside Hawthorn, Leslie's fitting out berth is the nearly complete cargo ship Linkmoor (1961) and in the dry dock undergoing a refit is the tanker Caltex Kenya (1952).
