On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the engine room between 49 and 57 stations on 4 deck looking forward on the starboard side of the middle platform from 50 station showing the top of the 400 Kw A.C. turbo generator on the right. On the left is the engineer's desk with a board above it detailing the port and starboard bearings. Between the desk and the forward bulkhead is a de-aerator. Against the forward bulkhead are fuse panels, a Laurence Scott Electromotors control unit, an emergency change over switch and connection box, two pressure gauges, a telephone, a fire extinguisher and an emergency cable stowage.
