On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the canteen between 51¾ and 54 stations on the centreline of 2 deck looking aft and to port showing a sink unit and a Frigidaire ice cream conservator against the aft bulkhead. An aluminium counter unit with a serving hatch in the bulkhead has various brands of soap powder and toilet soap stored under it and in the corner are boxes of Cadbury's Snack milk wafers, shortcakes and milk fingers. Under the forward end of the counter is a water cooler and above it is the water dispensing nozzle and a syrup dispenser. The halved door to the canteen is on the right and it is fitted with a hinged drop-down shelf.
