On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the boiler room between 41 and 49 stations on 3 - 4 deck and is said to be at the forward end of the lower platform looking to starboard. An oil fuel pump is in the foreground. It has the manufacturer's plate of Laidlaw, Drew & Co Ltd, Edinburgh, and two gauges are labelled 'fuel delivery' and 'fuel return'. This pump is also shown in negative number N65635. On the left a steel ladder and a wire rope ladder lead up to a circular escape scuttle in the deckhead above and behind the ladder is a large control panel.
