On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the port side of 1 deck looking forward from 60 station showing a 14 feet sailing dinghy on deck in the foreground with the torpedo and ammunition embarking davit just ahead of it. The 25 feet motor cutter is under its davits and has a canvas cover over it. On the right are two ceremonial lighting equipment lockers alongside the Type 262 local maintenance annexe. Further ahead are a pyrotechnics lockers and the potato locker. The bofors gun deck has a canvas dodger on the guardrails. The upper parts of the main and foremasts are at the top of the photograph. The Royal Fleet Auxiliary oiler Bayleaf (1955) is in the left background and the funnel of the tanker Caltex Kenya (1952) can be seen by the bow of the Bayleaf (1955).
