On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is looking aft from the port side of 1 deck at 60 station showing the Limbo Mk. 10 mortar well with a smoke generator locker ahead. Two dan buoy sinkers and a dan buoy are stowed by the mortar well bulwark and canvas covered inflatable liferafts are stowed on the outboard end of the deck. Ceremonial lighting booms and a mortar projectile davit are stored on top of the crew's W.Cs. The ship uis berthed starboard side to the quay and the tanker Solen (1961) is berthed astern, port side to quay while fitting out.
