The Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959). Looking forward from the stern on 2 deck.

On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is on the aft end of 2 deck at 80 station looking forward. On the quarterdeck are four sets of bollards, a canvas covered unifoxer winch, a watertight hatch with a wire reel for a mooring pendant hidden behind it and a canvas covered wire reel for berthing wire to starboard. Between the hatch and the Limbo Mk. 10 mortar well are covered inflateable liferafts and another unifoxer winch. The single 40mm bofors gun is abaft the mainmast with the foremast in the background. The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay. On the building slip on the right is the stern of the cargo liner Clan Fraser (1961) which was launched on 27 July 1961.
