On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the seamen's mess between 27 and 31 stations on 3 deck looking aft and to starboard from the port side of the mess showing tables and bench seats with a mess cleaning gear locker and mirror on the left. A hammock stowage bin, an electric fire and a mirror are on a pillar between tables. Greatcoat lockers, kit lockers, a mess cleaning gear locker, tea and sugar tray, air conditioning unit, an emergency change over switch and control box, a transformer and fuse panels are against the aft bulkhead. The open watertight hatch leading down to 4 deck is on the right. Hammock rails are under the deckhead.
