The photographer is in the engine room between 49 and 57 stations on 4 deck, said to be looking aft from the starboard side of the middle platform showing a starter panel and an emergency change over switch and connection box in the right foreground with two gauges labelled 'E.R. S.W. circ. supply' and 'Firemain' above them. A small workbench fitted with a vice is in the centre of the photograph. On the left is a panel with six gauges on it; two are for the circulating pump suction and delivery and three are for nozzle compartment.
