On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the main passageway, known as the Burma Road, between 49 and 61½ stations on 2 deck looking to port and slightly aft from 49 station showing a breathing apparatus cabinet, a Nu-Swift fire extinguisher and four Nu-Swift fire extinguisher cartridges on the left. In the alcove are a starter panel for the supply fan, three fuse panels, a fire main angled stand pipe, a portable pump, a cable reel, an emergency change over switch and connection box, an emergency connection box, a power panel and a notice re use of safety lamps. The watertight hatch leading down to the engine room is open. The watertight door at 49 station on the right is also open.
