On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the asdic instrument compartment between 12½ and 16 stations on 3 deck looking to port and slightly aft from 14¾ station showing the backs of the standard electrical cabinets H, I, J, K, L and M on the right. A wooden table is in the foreground. An electrical first aid cabinet S.C. 1 is against the port side of the ship with a transformer and a remote control change over switch panel against the aft bulkhead. The vertical steel ladder leading up to 2 deck is on the left with the emergency wire rope ladder also rigged. Behind the wire rope ladder is a foam fire extinguisher and next to it is a wooden locker and the asdic type 177 junction box 3. A framed notice board holds an asdic instrument cooling diagrammatic arrangement.
