On board the guided missile destroyer HMS Kent (1961) alongside the Harland & Wolff Ltd fitting out berth in the Musgrave Channel, Belfast. The photographer is in the steering gear compartment on 3 deck looking aft and to port from the starboard side forward showing both of the steering motors. An electric fire and an acoustic telephone hood are against the ship's side on the left. Shelving racks are in the aft port corner.
