On board the guided missile destroyer HMS Kent (1961) alongside the Harland & Wolff Ltd fitting out berth in the Musgrave Channel, Belfast. The photographer is in the sonar control room and is said to be looking to starboard showing the sonar control officer's chair on a raised platform and beyond him is the position of the 170B, 176 and 177 bearing recorder. Against the bulkhead on the left are the range console R, the bearing console S and the doppler console T. The ship's speed repeater is against the end bulkhead and a telephone, intercom switchboard and emergency automatic lantern are on the right.
