On board the guided missile destroyer HMS Kent (1961) alongside the Harland & Wolff Ltd fitting out berth in the Musgrave Channel, Belfast. The photographer is in one of the two crew's messes on 3 deck forward looking forward on the starboard side showing five triple tier bunk units and a group of kit lockers. A greatcoat locker, a smaller locker and a fuse panel are against the forward bulkhead. A fire extinguisher, table and chairs are in the left background. An air conditioning unit is under the deckhead.
